EBIT™'s Spectrum of Footwear [E010] Debuts a Series of Metaverse Sneakers

Returning to the virtual fashion scene, the collective known as EBIT™ (Enjoy Being in Transition™) has now prepared its latest expression of extended reality (XR). The offer of digital fashion serves to continue EBIT™’s brand purpose, utilizing NFTs to raise awareness for the wide spectrum of mental health conditions in the metaverse. “Spectrum of Footwear [E010]” is a debut range of metaverse-ready digital shoes and sneakers created in collaboration with virtual fashion’s NFT marketspace THE DEMATERIALISED.

The ten game-engine ready 3D designed footwear stand as morphing styles that draw inspiration from the wide spectrum of mental health conditions. Aside from being wearable by avatars as NFTs, the shoes and sneakers can also be worn in real life. Ultimately, the project pushes the boundaries of brand purpose and experience, and of product utility and
function.

“80s vibe sling-back sneaker mules morph into flat grain leather low tops then classic basketball high tops, before hybridizing into post-modern Chelsea boots, clogs and wedge-heels before completing the spectrum,” said EBIT™ (Enjoy Being in Transition™) in a press release. Each footwear style comes complete with a 69cm signature EBIT™ label which contains subtle references to morality, mental health and youth culture.

Despite showcasing distinct qualities, the 10 styles morph and sequentially overlap to faithfully represent the spectrum. EBIT™ also notes, “[E010] pays a respectful reference to how both the classifications of footwear design and the diagnosis of mental health conditions have followed a similar progression over the previous 20 years. From an individually labeled category or illness – a shoe, a sneaker, a boot, a heel, Asperger’s, depression, ADHD, schizophrenia et al – to today’s approach of un-categorized hybrid footwear design and diagnosis of patients not by individual labels but across a spectrum of mental health where elements of conditions overlap.”

Spectrum of Footwear [E010] also marks a new form of brand marketing, with the range designed by hand (by Dominic Laurelli, EBIT™ design) and rendered for virtual utility by Amsterdam based fashion CGI specialists INDG, in partnership with Bastiaan Geluk, Markus Bauer, Nick Hussain and Ben Mahon. Digital product development led by Jaime Galipienso, with Didac Albors and Joseto Garcia.

EBIT™ (Enjoy Being in Transition™)’s Spectrum of Footwear [E010] will be launched via THE DEMATERIALISED platform on the Lukso blockchain (proof of stake) May 19, 5 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EDT). Each footwear style will be sold through auction in limited quantity up to 50 units with variations to enhance utility: a 3D style of footwear (GLB), a game engine optimized 3D style of footwear (USZD), an exclusive 2D digital art piece (.png), an exclusive 3D digital art piece (.mp4), first notice of the availability of physical EBIT™ products and AR experience on Instagram. Most importantly, 10% of all sales will go towards the National Autistic Society charity.
