Foodshare/Snap Accepted at Sturgeon Bay and Jacksonport Farmers Markets

This year, United Way of Door County is expanding the farmers market FoodShare program to the Jacksonport Farmers Market. Individuals who receive FoodShare, also known as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), can exchange their funds for tokens, in one dollar increments, that can be used for eligible items at participating vendors at the Sturgeon Bay and Jacksonport Farmers Markets.

In 2021, United Way began managing the EBT program that the City of Sturgeon Bay previously ran. This will be the first year the program is available in Jacksonport. The program increases access to locally grown produce and food goods for those who receive FoodShare and supports local producers with additional revenue.
