Ezra Miller corrected Hawaii police over their pronouns during one of their recent arrests, according to police body camera footage recently released.

TMZ published the footage Monday, showing Miller correcting officers who referred to them as a “sir” while riding in the police car. “I’m not a sir; I’m transgender nonbinary,” Miller corrected.

“The Flash” actor’s voice rose as they added: “Please call me they/them/theirs. You can use the term Mx.”

“If you fail to do that again, it is an act of intentional bigotry, and it is a technical hate crime according to U.S. Federal law,” they continued to tell the police.

The footage’s timestamp is dated back to late March, USA Today reported. During this time, Miller was arrested and charged with harassment and disorderly conduct after yelling obscenities at patrons at a local bar called Margarita Village in Hilo. During karaoke, Miller reportedly became irritated at patrons for performing Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper’s smash duet “Shallow.”

While Miller pleaded no contest to the disorderly conduct charge, they had to pay a $500 fine. According to USA Today, prosecutors dropped the harassment charge and a traffic charge from another incident due to a plea deal.

Two residents of the Hilo property also filed a petition for a restraining order claiming Miller stormed into the bedroom and threatened them. That petition was later charged.

Miller got arrested again on April 19. This time for alleged assault. According to the police report, they threw a chair after being asked to leave a party at a Big Island home.

With alleged assaults and multiple charges popping up, fans have petitioned to have The CW’s version of The Flash Grant Gustin replace Miller in the role in the DC Extended Universe. Though, the movie is reportedly in post-production. “The Flash” is expected to come out on June 23, 2023.
