Area state police responded to the following calls:

Milesburg Man Flees Police During Traffic Stop

Clearfield-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for several violations along Glendale Avenue in Morris Township, Clearfield County, on Saturday, May 14, around 3:44 a.m.

According to the report, the operator of the vehicle, a 35-year-old Milesburg man, began to flee by driving into the woods.

The vehicle became disabled when it struck a tree. He then fled on foot further into the woods before being caught and taken into custody by law enforcement.

He was found to be impaired during the incident. Pending charges include fleeing and eluding and DUI.

His name was not released.

Theft by Deception

PSP Punxsutawney received a report of theft by deception in Canoe Township, Indiana County, on Sunday, May 1, around 12:00 p.m.

The incident occurred as an unknown actor gained possession of the victim’s personal identifying information. The actor used the information to file a fraudulent unemployment claim with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.

The victim is listed as a 60-year-old Rossiter man.

Child Endangerment in Bell Township

Punxsutawney-based State Police are investigating an incident in which a Mahaffey man was arrested for multiple crimes in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

According to the report, a 34-year-old Mahaffey man was arrested for DUI, drug possession, and child endangerment on Saturday, May 7, around 6:28 p.m.

The victims are listed as a 14-year-old juvenile female, a 13-year-old juvenile male, and a 6-year-old juvenile female.

The investigation is ongoing.
