Former New York Yankees star CC Sabathia thinks Michael King is filthy.

King, 26, has been lighting up opposing batters for the Yankees so far, recording 37 strike outs and allowing just four earned runs through 25.2 innings pitched in 2022. He’s done so well that Sabathia, the 2007 Cy Young Award winner, thinks he belongs in the starting rotation.

Here’s what Sabathia said about King on his “R2C2″ podcast recently:

“He’s a starter, his stuff is disgusting, bro,” Sabathia said. “His stuff is disgusting. And at a time when everybody went four-seamer top of the zone, high spin rate, he’s sinker/slider, he’s just carving guys up because they don’t have the swing for what he throws.”

The Yankees’ current starting rotation consists of Gerrit Cole, Nestor Cortes Jr., Luis Severino, Jordan Montgomery and Jameson Taillon.
