Atlanta United has been decimated by injuries this season, but got some good news earlier this week when Josef Martinez made his return to the training pitch, taking part in some simple activities.
Atlanta United Analyst Jason Longshore discusses Josef's return to training ahead of schedule and when we can expect to see him playing again.
"It's coming. He's back in team training slightly ahead of the timelines he was given. It was 6-8 weeks then and six weeks would be Friday, he got back into training a couple of days before that," explains Longshore. "Next week is an outside shot, best bet is in June after that International Break in June, maybe the Pachuca match on June 14th might be where Josef gets time on the pitch for the first time."
Atlanta United has struggled to get results without Josef, grabbing just 5 points from 6 matches without him, although the United offense has started clicking scoring 8 goals in their past three matches.
