Peoria police investigate a deadly traffic accident involving pedestrian

PEORIA – A person is dead after an early morning accident in Peoria's North Valley, Peoria police said.

Officers responded to an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian around 4:07 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Abington Street, according to police spokeswoman Semone Roth.

The victim was found to be dead at the scene. A cause and manner of death will be determined by the Peoria County coroner.
