Following a seven-month-long battle with COVID-19, a Tarrant County sheriff's deputy is finally back home.
Law enforcement officers from many different agencies cheered as Tarrant County Deputy Jason Jones was wheeled out of a Fort Worth rehabilitation center Wednesday morning.
Fellow Tarrant County deputies were on hand to escort him back to his Johnson County home, where his entire family was waiting.
Those deputies were joined by officers with the Fort Worth, Saginaw and Azle police departments, as well as Fort Worth firefighters and Johnson County sheriff's deputies.
"This is an amazing day for Deputy Jones and his family and we are honored to have been a part of this happy occasion," says Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn.
