"Undercurrents," the works of 10 international artists who are exploring how climate change affects the human condition, opens today at the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum.

How lucky are we that St. Augustine has so much to offer? We have art, museums, ballet, theater, festivals, concerts and, yes, the beach. Several activities are happening this week, so get out your calendar and decide which one you want to check out.

Crisp-Ellert Art Museum: 'Undercurrents'

The museum is exhibiting the works of 10 international artists who are exploring how climate change affects the human condition. The exhibit opens Friday, May 20, with a reception from 5-8 p.m. and runs through June 17. The 10 artists are: Kayla Parker and Stuart Moore; Leah Sandler; Krista Leigh Steinke; Jennifer Boles; Georgie Brinkman; Christiana Caro; Laura Gines; Amanda Hodes; and Karissa Hahn.

Travel back to the 1990s on Saturday at the As If! '90s Fest at Francis Field.

Get out your fanny pack, your grungy acid-washed jean and your Game Boy and head out to Francis Field for a celebration of all things '90s. The event, from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, will include a slime zone, a selfie station, '90s music and games, food trucks and more. Musician Montell Jordan, rock band Eve 6 and the Quad City DJs will be on hand to bring back that nostalgia.

St. Augustine Ballet will bring 'Peter and the Wolf' to life Saturday at Lewis Auditorium.

‘Peter and the Wolf’ and ‘Don Quixote Suite’: St. Augustine Ballet

The iconic music from “Peter and the Wolf,” called a “symphonic fairy tale,” will be brought to life Saturday, May 21, with two performances in Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College. The story is about a young boy named Peter who lives with his grandfather in a small country house, with nearby meadows, a pond and a woods.

The second act is a “Don Quixote Suite: The Dream” based on the famous novel by Miguel de Cervantes. It features a dream Don Quixote has about beautiful maidens, in which one of the images symbolizes his Dulcinea.

Walk the beach at Marineland while you're learning about the wildlife and environment on Monday.

What could be better than taking a morning walk along the beach while learning all about shorebirds, coquina rocks and flowers growing along the dunes? This free beach walk starts at 9 a.m. Monday, May 23, at the River to Sea Pavilion, 9805 N. Ocean Shore Blvd., Palm Coast, with a guided walk on the beach.
