What's the Buzz: Saturday brings food truck rally and an enchanting day

Pick any one of the events happening in and around the area to keep your week busy. Whatever you choose to do, I’ll be highlighting attractions, activities, and festivals right here, every week. From local music and shows to options for those of you who don’t mind traveling a bit, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to check all activities, as cancellations can occur. The events listed are for May 19 to 28. 

Saturday

Jaycees Food Truck Rally 2022. Sometimes nothing beats a taco from a man in a truck. Food trucks will be descending upon Zane's Landing Park, all for a good cause. Put on by the Zanesville Jaycees, the group will be accepting donations to help fund the annual fireworks display and other causes. Fifteen food trucks are scheduled to participate including Pucky's, LeMacaroon, Kona Ice, and Yardbirds Wings. The event is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information call 740-453-7889. Zane's Landing Park, Zanesville.

Day of Enchantment. Sponsored by Cambridge Main Street, bring your little ones down to Wheeling Avenue for a day of magic. Carriage rides, face painting, crafts, and more are scheduled to take place. Tickets and registration is required for this event. Tickets cost $25 per child and can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com or by calling the Main Street office. May 27

The Dusty Covers Band. Kick off summer with the Community Savings Summer Concert Series. Head to the Noble County Courthouse lawn for a small town summer night. The Dusty Covers Band will be performing from 6:30 to 8:30. A free movie, "Tom and Jerry - The Movie," will be presented following the music. Food and drinks will be provided by Hog Hollow BBQ and the Mount Ephraim Mountaineers 4-H club. The Noble County Cruizers will also be on-site, displaying classic and vintage cars for the crowd. Lock 17 will be bringing their rocking performance to The Barn on May 28.

May 28

Lock 17. This head-banging rock and roll cover band is always a good time. Performing at The Barn, Lock 17 covers classic rock legends AC/DC, KISS, Foreigner, Skid Row, and more. The show is scheduled to run from 7 to 11 p.m. For more information call 740-455-2276. The Barn, 1947 Linden Ave, Zanesville. 

Youth Fishing Tournament. Kids ages up to 15 can come out to Sugartree Marina and spend the day fishing. The tournament is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and no pre-registration is required. The marina will be providing bait and will have a limited amount of poles and tackle available for anyone in need. This event is dependent on the weather. For more information call 740-439-4009.   • 2022 Deerassic Park Spring Fest. Deerassic Park is hosting a day full of kids' raffles. Scheduled to take place are scavenger hunts, canoeing, kayaking, inflatables, and fishing. Food vendors will be available and the first 500 children under the age of 15 will receive a free T-shirt. Sign up for the raffle runs from 10 a.m. to noon and the child must be present.
