MHS track teams vie today for Tidewater crowns

The Middlesex High School (MHS) varsity boys track team finished second in a Tidewater District track meet on Tuesday, May 10, as West Point won the team competition.

At West Point, the Pointers won with 237 points. Middlesex was second, 106 points; Washington and Lee, third, 44 points; King and Queen Central, fourth, 30 points; and Essex, fifth, 16 points.

The Chargers had three first place finishes in the meet as Jayden Kidd won the high jump (5’); 100 meter dash (12.06); and 200 meters (24.4). Malachi Ball finished fourth in the 400 meters (57.92); Vicente Reyes, third, 800 meters (2:23.32) and Thomas Dodd, fourth, 800 meters (2:40.94) and second, 1,600 meters (5:54.26).

The Chargers will complete in the Tidewater District championship meet today, Thursday, May 19, at Charles City High School and the Region A meet, also at Charles City on May 26.

MHS girls track results

The Middlesex High School girls track team finished fifth as a team in a Tidewater District meet on Tuesday, May 10, scoring 13 points.

West Point won the meet with 140 points; Washington and Lee, second, 91 points; King and Queen Central, third, 52 points; Essex, fourth, 44 points and the Lady Chargers, fifth, 13 points.
