More details were released about the crash involving the chartered bus carrying the Murray State softball team on the way to the NCAA Tournament in Alabama on Wednesday.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said its Highway Patrol Division responded to the accident Wednesday in Fayette County just north of Tuscaloosa between a commercial vehicle and the Racers’ chartered bus carrying 26 passengers.

Murray State athletic director Kevin Saal said during a news conference Thursday that three Lady Racer players on the bus had injuries that weren’t life threatening.

The injured players were taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment, and all were released by Thursday morning.

The school conducted a virtual meeting Thursday with the players' families.

Murray State (40-16-1) won the Ohio Valley Conference tournament last week to earn their first ever NCAA Tournament berth. The third-seeded Racers are scheduled to face No. 2 seed Stanford on Friday in Tuscaloosa in the double-elimination event.
