Karie Striplin named Dale County’s new head volleyball coach

MIDLAND CITY, Ala. (WDHN) — Dale County volleyball has a new head coach.

Karie Striplin will take over her Alma Mater’s team in the summer.

Striplin has been at Geneva County High School for the last eight years coaching basketball, volleyball, softball and track.

She’s noticed Dale County’s recent success and wants to be a part of making the Warrior program the best it can be.

Coaching a fall sport frees her up in the winter and early spring to travel to see her daughter Karoline play basketball for the Tennessee Volunteers.

While she hadn’t planned on returning home to coach, she’s excited to get back to her roots.

“I do have a lot of pride for being a Warrior and putting back on that red and Columbia blue,” Striplin said. “It’ll just be exciting to have that community support that really knows me and can get behind me. They know my work ethic and my family and the tradition of being a Warrior is really fun to be a part of.”

Striplin will start workouts with the Warriors in June.
