Madisonville man indicted on federal drug charges

A Hopkins County man is facing drug charges, after being indicted by a federal grand jury last week.

U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, Michael A. Bennett announced the indictment of 34-year-old Travarius Baxter of Madisonville. 

Baxter is charged with distributing methamphetamine, and possession of meth with the intent to distribute.

If convicted, Baxter faces at least 10 years, up to life, in federal prison. In the federal system, there is no provision for parole.

The investigation is being conducted by the Madisonville-Hopkins County VICE/Narcotics Unit and the DEA.
