AURORA, Neb. —
Criminal charges have been filed in a pedestrian-vehicle crash in Hamilton County.

Phillip Wiles, 39, of Marquette, has been charged in Hamilton County Court with failure to stop following a fatal accident, which is a felony, and motor vehicle homicide, which is a misdemeanor, following the March 29 death of Alex Sohl, 31, of Phillips.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, Sohl was struck by Wiles' vehicle while Sohl was walking on Highway 34 between Sunset Terrace and the Phillips spur at approximately 10:40 p.m. on March 29.
Sohl was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to an investigation, Sohl was wearing dark clothing when the accident occurred.

Authorities said neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
