PENSACOLA, Fla. -- A Florida man involved in an armed burglary in Walton County was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Wednesday.
A jury found Timothy Farris, 44, guilty on charges of Burglary of a Dwelling while armed with a Firearm and Possession of Methamphetamine.
The charges arose from an incident from December 2020 at a home on Whip Poor Will Lane.
According to a release, the victim was working on a vehicle when Farris walked onto a neighbor's property and began threatening him.
The victim then drew a pistol and asked Farris to leave the property. According to a release, Farris returned with a rifle and fired several rounds.
The victim retreated into his home. A release states that Farris then broke into the victim's home from the back door and aimed his weapon.
According to a release, the victim called 911 and then a man came to get Farris from the home soon after, leaving in a truck.
Law enforcement then stopped the truck, but Farris then fled into the nearby woods. He was eventually apprehended.
Law enforcement recovered the rifle from the truck. A bag of meth and a syringe were also recovered off of Farris.
Farris was then booked into the Walton County Jail on Dec. 12, 2020.
