Spencer, IA (KICD)– The Historic Preservation Commission May Lecture Series is set to wrap up on Thursday and what better way to do so than to flash back to the past of the Clay County Fair.

Jeremy Parsons will be presenter for this talk that he says will focus on the many people that have made the fair what it is in its more than a century of existence.

Parsons says while the “World’s Greatest County Fair” is known for a lot of things, it really is the people that have help put it and Spencer on the map.

Of one of the goals of this talk is to bring up excitement for this year’s Clay County Fair.

The final presentation with the HPC lecture series will be Thursday at six o’clock in Council Chambers at Spencer City Hall and online through the City of Spencer Facebook page.
