We're hearing from republican James May Wednesday after his victory over John Lombardo.
The two were competing in the republican primary for state representative in the 118th district, which covers Pittston and several surrounding towns- then into Lackawanna County with Old Forge, Dalton and more.
Election night votes showed May up more than 1,000 votes on Lombardo, according to unofficial results, with thousands of mail-ins still to be counted.
May said Lombardo conceded Tuesday night and called and texted him with well wishes, and that he would support May in the general election.
"We need to fix our roads, help our veterans and fight for freedom. The message that we had in the primary is the same we'll have in the general, because that is a message that resonates with everyone in the area," May said.
May will now face the winner in the democratic primary between Jim Haddock and Allison Lucarelli. Haddock has reportedly declared victory.
