Thompson, Andersen first-team all conference

The Holyoke girls golf team placed all four individuals in the top 15 of the NECO conference tournament and claimed the team title for the third time in five years.

Emma Thompson finished on top of the leaderboard May 9, winning by two strokes over Washington County’s Kendall Velder, 93-95.

Erin Andersen was right on Velder’s heels, finishing with a score of 96.

Sabryn Burris tied for eighth after shooting 105, and Grace Roberts tied for 14th with a 110.

Holyoke won the conference championship 294-305 over Washington County at Sterling’s Sky Ranch Golf Club.

This year’s title is added to team wins in 2017 and 2019.

The top five golfers, including Thompson and Andersen, are first-team all conference. Burris, along with the other four golfers rounding out the top 10, is all-conference second team.
