Holyoke plays Wray, Limon in tri

Baseball teams from Holyoke, Wray and Limon met up in Wray on May 14 for a triangular. The Dragons played in the first two games of the day. Wray beat Holyoke 21-1 in three innings, and Limon won 10-5 in seven innings.

Holyoke 1, Wray 21

The first game of the triangular went quickly due to Wray having a 20-run lead over Holyoke after three innings. Tyson Mosenteen scored the Dragons’ sole run in the first inning. He got on base with a single and stole a base, then moved to third on an error. Ty Sandquist Dirks then went on to drive him in with a single of his own.

The Eagles scored two runs in the first inning and five in the second. Up to that point, Holyoke played a pretty good game, coach Jimmy French pointed out. “The third one just didn’t go our way,” he said. Wray managed to rack up 14 runs in the third inning before securing the early 21-1 win.
