Springfield city council is footing a $140,000 bill to sponsor the big yellow slide on the Illinois State Fairgrounds.

The city will give the owner of Knight's Action Park $30,000 a year for the next four years to operate the slide at the fairgrounds.

That agreement was contingent on Knight's Action Park purchasing the slide.
