This isn't something you see every day!An 11 News viewer in Woodbine got an unexpected visitor. Ring camera video captured a black bear roaming around her backyard!What should you do if you see this play out in your backyard?The Maryland Department of Natural Resources says do not approach any bear. The bears are usually not aggressive and will leave on their own.For those who live in bear country or in any area where a bear has been spotted recently, DNR advises:Locking garbage in a bear-proof trash bin or storing trash containers in a locked garage or shed until the morning of trash pickup.Rinsing out trash containers with ammonia to eliminate odors.Storing cooking grills inside and keeping them clean of food residue.Removing backyard bird feeders from April through November (birds have plenty of wild food sources during this time).Paying close attention while driving through bear country especially between dusk and dawn since it is hard to see these dark animals on the move.
