EastEnders aired a shock twist in Janine Butcher's story tonight (May 18) as she conned Nancy and Zack out of their money.
The notorious schemer was well and truly back to her old tricks in Wednesday's visit to Walford, which explored the aftermath of her offer to Linda.
Janine (Charlie Brooks) has been growing increasingly paranoid about the connection Linda shares with her estranged husband Mick and has offered her a hefty sum of money to leave the Square.
But while some fans may have been confused about Janine's sudden change in fortune, her plan soon became apparent – in a twist that will spell chaos for Nancy and Zack.
As Zack and Nancy went to meet with their estate agent to sign the lease contract for their new business, little did they know that Janine had been meddling.
Janine had hired a fake estate agent, who piled on the pressure by asking them for a two year deposit upfront, in order stop the unit going to someone else.
While Nancy and Zack transferred the money and celebrated their supposed triumph, Janine pretended to be Nancy and pulled out of the actual lease.
Janine's devious antics enabled her to have the money to give Linda, but the twists aren't over just yet.
Although the finer details are still under wraps at the moment, we can confirm that tonight's developments will lead to a huge, new storyline airing in June.
Spoiler-savvy fans will already be aware that there is more drama to come in the Linda vs Janine feud over the summer, thanks to some recent paparazzi pictures showing the cast filming on location.
Therefore, it will come as no surprise that the repercussions of tonight's episode will continue to play out over the coming weeks, with potentially explosive results…
It's already been confirmed that Danny Dyer is bowing out of his role as Mick Carter at some point this year, meaning his days in Walford are numbered.
