The Dallas County Sheriff's Office says mushroom hunters discovered a body in a well.

The Dallas County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday they had identified the human remains that mushroom hunters found in a well earlier this month.

According to the sheriff's office, the remains are of 60-year-old Kevin Rogers of Springfield.

His remains were found by mushroom hunters in a well near Long Lane in Dallas County.

No information on Rogers' cause of death or how long his remains had been in the well has been released.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, Rogers had reported his vehicle, a brown pickup truck, as stolen to the Springfield Police Department in May of 2021.
