Barr Reeve Boys Golf Team set a school record with a 152 over Vincennes Lincoln (167) and Wood Memorial (181) at Cypress Hills Golf Club. Individual scores for the Vikings were very impressive as Sam Emmons was a medalist carding a 35. Brayten Yoder 37, Noah Anderson 40, Jayden Graber 40, and Levi Traylor 55. Congratulations on the new record!

The Barr Reeve baseball team dropped Bloomfield yesterday 12-3. The Lady Viking Softball team fell to Southridge 14-2.

The Hatchets baseball team lost at Gibson Southern 10-1. Washington will host North Posey today. Washington softball fell to Vincennes Lincoln 6-1.

North Daviess Softball lost a close one to Bloomington North 6-4.

South Knox baseball edged out North Knox 3-1.

Princeton, Gibson Southern, South Knox, Pike Central and Barr Reeve finished top five at the Girls Track Sectional yesterday in the 13-team field at Princeton. Washington was in the middle of the pack at 7th place. Molly Jones had a fourth place finish in the 400 meter dash for the Hatchets. Elle Knepp had a top finish in the 300 meter hurdles for Barr Reeve, while Kapri Granger finished fourth for Washington. The Barr Reeve 400 meter relay team finished third, Washington was fourth. The North Daviess 1600 meter relay team took fourth place. Abigail Hellums from North Daviess finished second in the high jump. Abby Ballengee was tops in the girls pole vault.

The girls tennis sectionals get underway tonight, Washington opens against Vincennes Rivet at 5:00 pm. The winner will move on to play Washington Catholic in the semi finals.

Loogootee faces Barr Reeve at 4:30 pm. NE Dubois has Paoli at 6:00 pm tonight at Loogootee.

At Linton, White River Valley plays North Daviess at 5:00 pm, while Linton takes on Bloomfield at 6:30 pm.

At Jasper, Pike Central plays Southridge while Forest Park opens with Jasper.

There’s no rest at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Drivers returned to the oval today for practice sessions one and two for the 106th running of the Indianapolis 500. It was a mixed day between veterans and newcomers with the fastest laps. Two Time Indy 500 winner Takuma Sato turned the fastest lap at over two hundred and twenty-eight miles per hour in the waning minutes of the day. Jimmy Johnson was the fastest rookie at a little over two hundred and twenty-seven miles per hour, the second fastest to Sato. Practice session three begins at noon eastern time and runs until six.

The Indianapolis Colts are adding a pro-bowler to its backfield. The Colts inked Phillip Lindsay to a one-year deal. Lindsay began his career in Denver after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2018.

The Indiana Pacers know their pick. The Pacers will pick sixth overall in the upcoming NBA Draft. The Kings, Magic, Thunder, and Rockets all took the first four picks.

At the Ballparks, the Mets and the Cardinals split a twinbill. The Mets took game one in New York 3 to 1, while the Cards took game two 4 to 3. The Reds edged out their cross state rival the Cleveland Guardians 5 to 4 for their 10th win of the season, and the Cubs shut out the Pirates 7 to zip.
