Police identify 24-year-old Neenah man who died after getting struck by a car Sunday

CLAYTON – Police have identified a 24-year-old Neenah man who died early Sunday after getting struck by a car.

Michael Schermerhorn died after he was struck on State 76 near East Shady Lane shortly after midnight Sunday.

The driver of the car called the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office at 12:19 a.m. and reported that she had hit a person, but could not find the victim. Life-saving measures were unsuccessful after rescue workers located Schermerhorn.

According to his obituary, Schermerhorn was a 2016 graduate of Xavier High School in Appleton.
