Posted on 18 May 2022 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—APEX Clean Energy will be conducting additional preparation in Boone County for the Great Pathfinder Windfarm, located in northern Boone County. County Engineer Scott Kruse announced the next step, a plan to use cement stabilization on some of the roads affected by the project. Kruse told the Boone County Supervisors the work could begin as early as Monday.

This announcement from the County Engineer’s office was released Wednesday:

Apex Wind Energy’s contractors will be doing Cement Stabilization of several miles of road in Boone County. The roads will be closed during this process please don’t drive through there unless you live on those roads. The process consists of laying cement powder on the road and mixing it into the driving surface to a depth of approximately 12″ During the process you don’t want to get that cement powder on your vehicle. Avoid these areas. They plan to start on the 22nd or 23rd and be completed by the 27th barring weather delays.
