LANSING, Mich. —
A crowd gathered in support of the Michigan Poor People's Campaign on the steps of the State Capitol in Lansing Wednesday.

The groups called on lawmakers to support a wide variety of issues such as tenant protections, fair wages, reproductive freedom to prison reform.
The Michigan Poor People's Campaign want Michigan elected officials in Lansing and Washington D.C. to support this request, according to a Michigan Poor People's Campaign representative.
Various speakers were at the event and spoke on the matters.

The National Poor People's Campaign march is expected to happen in Washington, D.C. in June.
