Steve Sarkisian weighs in on kickoff time for Texas-Alabama game
Steve Sarkisian has a chance to become the third Nick Saban assistant to beat his former boss in Week 2 of the upcoming 2022 college football season.
That’s when the Texas Longhorns will host the Alabama Crimson Tide in Austin on Saturday, Sept. 10, for a Week 2 nonconference matchup.
FOX will broadcast the game, and many fans are scared it will be an 11 a.m. Central time kickoff in Austin. But, Sarkisian isn’t worried about when the game is. He said when it’s time to play, the Longhorns will be ready:
Steve Sarkisian on playing Alabama at 11 a.m.: “Spot the ball and we’ll play.”
Mentions he knows fans love night games, “but at the end of the day the world that we’re in in college football… TV is a factor.”

Texas fans want to avoid the heat of the day, but it’s likely FOX will put the game in its showcase “Big Noon Saturday” timeslot.
We’ll see what happens ahead of the Week 2 showdown in Austin.
