Local News Briefs: Price of fair admission increasing this year

Fair admission announced

COSHOCTON — General admission for the Coshocton County Fair is being raised from $10 to $15. The fair runs Sept. 30 to Oct. 6. The cost includes rides. 

A season pass of seven punches is $54, an exhibitor pass is $45 and a membership pass of seven punches is $55. Daily admission for seniors and veterans is $7. 

Locals make honor rolls

MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE — Monique McMullen of Newcomerstown and Elaina Corder of Warsaw were named to the winter semester dean's list at Southern New Hampshire University. Named to the president's list were Joseph Wolfie and Richard Klinehoffer II of Coshocton. 

Mladek graduates BU

BLUFFTON — Cassandra Mladek of Coshocton has earned a bachelor's degree in primary education with a minor in speech-language pathology and audiology from Bluffton University. She's a member of the C. Henry Smith Scholar Program and Pi Delta Society. 

Warsaw student gets grant for cancer research

MANHATTAN, KANSAS — Stephen Hammond of Warsaw was among 18 graduate students at Kansas State University to receive $7,500 each related to cancer research at the Johnson Cancer Researcher Center. Hammond is a doctoral student in kinesiology. 

Progressive Valley Grange meeting

FRESNO — Progressive Valley Grange will meet in regular session at 8 p.m. Thursday at the grange hall with Teresa Donley providing a program on gardening. 

Coshocton Schools having early dismissal

COSHOCTON — Coshocton City Schools will have a two-hour early dismissal on May 25. The high school lets out at 12:35 p.m. and junior high at 12:40 p.m. The elementary dismisses at 1:05 p.m. This is the last day for students for the current school year.
