Oli McBurnie Accused Of 'Stomping' On Nottingham Forest Fan During Playoff Semi-Final Pitch Invasion

Oli McBurnie Accused Of 'Stomping' On Nottingham Forest Fan During Playoff Semi-Final Pitch Invasion

The video has gone viral on social media.

Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie has been accused of 'stomping' on a Nottingham Forest fan following Tuesday's Championship playoff semi-final.

Forest's 3-2 penalty shootout win at the City Ground was overshadowed by a pitch invasion which saw Blades striker Billy Sharp assaulted.

More footage of the pitch invasion has emerged involving a man who appears to be McBurnie.

The Scotland international can be seen stood over a man down on the ground, while moving his leg.

Fans nearby can be heard saying 'a Sheffield United player stomped' on the fan.

McBurnie is currently out of action with a foot injury and was seen wearing a protective boot on the touchline during the game.

The 25-year-old has replied to a fan's tweet, which reads: "Wish that @oli_mcburnie video was in full context - looks more like he was trying to step over him with one bad leg! Could be wrong!"

McBurnie's response was a '100' emoji.

SPORTbible has contacted Sheffield United for comment.

Forest's victory means they'll take on Huddersfield Town in the playoff final later this month as they look to return to the Premier League for the first time in 22 years.

Steve Cooper's side won the first leg 2-1 and went ahead in the first half through Brennan Johnson.

Goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and John Fleck brought United back to 3-3 on aggregate and it ensured the game would be decided via spot kicks.

Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba proved to be the hero and saved penalties from Ollie Norwood, Conor Hourihane and Gibbs-White to seal a dramatic victory.

Samba actually had a list of United players and their penalty technique on his water bottle.

The 28-year-old could be seen checking it throughout the shootout and it was wrapped in a towel.

'Dive' and 'sta' can be seen, indicating Samba knew when to dive or stand on his line.

Cooper spoke glowingly of his goalkeeper post-match and told reporters: "Brice was brilliant today, I'm not one for singling people out but its's difficult not to talk about how good he was in terms of the penalties, the saves, the distribution and the calmness.

"He is a big part of what we do on and off the pitch. It's brilliant he got his moment."
