MONACA − Beaver Valley musicians are rallying around one of their "family" members at a public benefit show Sunday featuring five local bands.

The Music From The Heart concert takes place at the Beaver Valley Sportsman Club, and will raise money for Eileen Mowad, wife of Mojo Dia and the Usual Suspects' bassist Ed Mowad, as she undergoes cancer treatments.

"As her extended family, this is our way of showing our love and helping to ease some of the financial burden," Mojo Dia and the Usual Suspects posted.

Mojo Dia, an eras-spanning classic-rock, soul, R&B, funk and pop band, will host the event.

A $10 donation is requested at the door, and the bands will volunteer their time.

The musical lineup:

2:30 p.m.: Slap Shot

3:45 p.m.: Bazooka Joe and the Wildcats

5 p.m.: StreetSide Saints

6:15 p.m.: Mums Guns

7:30 p.m.: Mojo Dia and the Usual Suspects

9:15 p.m.: Jam featuring members of all participating bands.

"When I learned of Eileen's situation, I knew we had to help and this is the best way we knew how to do it," Patrick Escoto, a Mojo Dia band member, said. "Music is at the heart of everything we do, thus the name Music From the Heart. Each of the bands are connected to Eileen and Ed in one way or another and were all eager to show their support. Being involved with several other similar events in the area, I know first hand that the Beaver County music community is always ready and willing to step up and lend a hand."

Mojo Dia's rock, soul, pop and R&B sounds will be showcased in a benefit show in Monaca.

The event also includes a basket auction, 50/50 and food/snacks. Drinks may be purchased at the bar.

The Beaver Valley Sportsman Club is at 1001 Grant St., in Monaca.
