A crash temporarily shut down a portion of Route 22 in Export Wednesday.Photos taken at the scene by Pittsburgh's Action News 4 reporter Jim Madalinsky showed multiple cars involved in the crash.Murrysville police responded to the scene along Route 22 and Harrison City Road. The police chief said the accident happened when the eastbound light had just turned green.Two vehicles in the left lane started to go when a third vehicle came speeding up the left lane, side-swiped the guard rail, collided with another vehicle and came to a stop in the intersection, according to Chief Thomas Seefeld.Crews had to extricate the male driver. He was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries. There is no word on his condition.Witnesses reported the vehicle was swerving prior to the accident. Route 22 was closed while investigators reconstructed the scene and worked to tow the vehicles.
