Onslow County highway back open after ‘suspicious’ package shut part of it down

ONSLOW COUNTY (WITN) - An Eastern Carolina highway has been opened back up to traffic after it was closed because deputies were investigating what they called a “suspicious” package.
The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office says the package was found outside of a business on Hwy 258 between Pony Farm Road and Blue Creek Road on Wednesday morning. That is the section of the highway that was closed.
There is no update as to what the investigation of the package found.
