Harry Styles compliments girlfriend Olivia Wilde in rare public remark

Harry Styles spoke highly of Olivia Wilde Wednesday in one of the first interviews he has given about his girlfriend.

“I had a wonderful experience being directed by Olivia,” the “Watermelon Sugar” singer, who worked with her on “Don’t Worry Darling,” said on Sirius XM’s “The Howard Stern Show.”

“Acting is kind of very uncomfortable at times. I think you have to trust a lot. It requires a lot of trust if you want to kind of give it everything, and I think being able to trust your director is a gift, so that was very helpful.”

He concluded, “It meant for a really nice experience working on that movie.”

Styles, 28, met Wilde, 38, in late 2020 when she cast him for the psychological thriller.

The pair then sparked dating rumors in January 2021 after Page Six published exclusive photos of them at Styles’ agent’s wedding.

The sighting came just two months after Wilde split from former fiancé Jason Sudeikis, with whom she shares 8-year-old son Otis and 5-year-old daughter Daisy.

Ever since, Wilde has been spotted supporting Styles at several of his concerts, including his headlining set at Coachella last month.

Although the couple rarely speak about their relationship to the public, it seems they are starting to get more comfortable doing so.

Wilde jokingly referred to Styles as an “up-and-coming actor” during a surprise appearance at CinemaCon in late April, in which she introduced the first trailer for “Don’t Worry Darling.”

“[He’s] an up-and-coming actor with no other career that I’m aware of,” the “Booksmart” director quipped.

Then describing the film, she said, “I want you to imagine a life where you have everything you could want.

“Not just material things … but true love and friendship. What would it take for you to give up that perfect life? Are you willing to dismantle the system that’s designed to serve the world?”

“Don’t Worry Darling” is set to be released in September 2022.
