When Who Killed Sara? first dropped on Netflix in 2021, it was a sensation. It was the middle of the pandemic, and nothing seemed more fun or ridiculous than trying to solve the mystery of how a fictional woman died during a parasailing accident almost 20 years ago. Now this surprise hit is back and the question remains: When will we see new episodes of José Ignacio Valenzuela’s drama?

You have questions, we have answers. Consider this your guide to the renewal status of Who Killed Sara?

Will There Be a Who Killed Sara? Season 4?

No, this is the end of the road for this Netflix original. Shortly after Season 3 premiered, Netflix sent out a tweet, teasing that this would be the final season of this Mexican thriller. It’s sad news, but it’s necessary. We can’t drag this mystery out forever.

The drama first premiered on the streaming giant in March of 2021 and quickly became a hit. Eighteen years ago, Sara (Ximena Lamadrid) died after a parasailing accident while on vacation with her boyfriend and his wealthy parents. Sara’s brother Álex was also on that trip. When Álex made too big of a fuss about Sara’s accident, the Lazcano family did the unthinkable — literally. They had Álex sent to jail, presumably for the death of his sister but mostly to get him out of the way. After nearly two decades, Álex returned to demand vengence and answers for what happened to his sister.

If you couldn’t tell by that wild explanation, anything can happen in this telenovela-inspired series. Everyone is having an affair. People fake their deaths only to come back stronger and with a secret plan. And of course no one can be trusted, especially not any family member. But after three seasons, we will finally learn who really killed Sara… if she even died in the first place. See? Anything can happen.
