WILLS POINT, Texas (KLTV) - A Tuesday night car crash killed one Wills Point High School student and injured another.

Wills Point Police said the crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 80 and FM 2965. Officers arrived to find a crash involving a passenger car and a 18-wheeler. Four juveniles were inside the passenger car, and one man was in the 18-wheeler. Officers immediately began assisting the people on scene.

According to Wills Point ISD Superintendent Scott Caloss, Jackson Adams died in the crash Tuesday night. Adams was a senior about to graduate and was heavily involved in the school’s theater department. Caloss said Adams was recently named UIL one act play best performer. He was also heavily involved in their culinary arts department.

Three other people were involved in the passenger vehicle, and one of them was a junior at Wills Point High School. All three were taken to the hospital and are said to be stable. The driver of the 18-wheeler was evaluated and released at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, according to Wills Point Police.

School district officials said that additional counselors will be at the high school this week to talk with any students or staff who need support.
