BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — First responders had a busy night in central Virginia, with crews from Bedford and Campbell counties teaming up to fight two structure fires.

According to officials, the first fire of the night took place on Brockenbrough Place, with units from Forest Fire Department arriving to find heaving flames showing from one side of the structure.

Members of the Brookville-Timberlake Volunteer Fire Department and the Bedford Fire Department also helped put out this blaze.

Then, shortly before 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, crews were called to another structure fire on Saber Court, drawing crews from Forest, Brookville-Timberlake, and Bedford, officials say.

The Forest Fire Department says units searched the area but did not find anyone.

There is no word on the cause of either fire, or the amount of damage they caused.

In addition to the fires, the Bedford Fire Department says its members also responded to a multi-vehicle crash with entrapment over the course of the night, but will not share the details until later on Wednesday.

This is a developing story.
