The Steelers have announced an exciting new addition to Heinz Field, as Pittsburgh is adding a Hall of Honor Museum to their stadium. The historic franchise is one of the best in the NFL at honoring their past greats, and the new feature will help continue that trend.

“The Steelers announced a new addition to Heinz Field that will further honor former players, coaches, and other contributors with the construction of the Steelers Hall of Honor Museum,” announced the franchise. “The museum is scheduled to open during the 2022 regular season.

“The museum will tell the detailed history of the Pittsburgh Steelers and feature the franchise’s best players, coaches, and front office personnel in the Hall of Honor.”

Moreover, Steelers President Art Rooney II comes from one of football’s most respected families. He knows how important it is to immortalize the past, and he couldn’t be more excited to reveal what the franchise has in store.

“We are extremely excited about the opening of the Steelers Hall of Honor Museum this Fall,” said Steelers President Art Rooney II. “This will provide our fans the opportunity to not only learn more about the Hall of Honor inductees, but also about the history of the team with many great videos, pictures and displays that highlight great moments and players in Steelers history.

“We have the best fans in the world, and we know they will enjoy this interactive museum upon its opening later this Fall.”

According to the franchise, the Steelers Hall of Honor Museum is going to be located near Gate B above the team’s Pro Shop. Additionally, it won’t only be available during football season, as fans will be able to visit the Steelers Hall of Honor Museum year-round after it is officially open.

“The Steelers Hall of Honor was established in 2017 to honor those former players, coaches and front office personnel who were integral in creating and sustaining the franchise’s success dating back to when the team was founded by Art Rooney Sr. in 1933,” added the Steelers. “Through the conclusion of the 2021 season, a total of 45 individuals have been inducted into the team’s Hall of Honor.”

As you can see, the Steelers are making efforts to celebrate their past as they enter a transformative period in their franchise’s history. While Pittsburgh honors the past with the creation of their Hall of Honor Museum later this season, players like Kenny Pickett will be attempting to begin their journey to get there.
