The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a semi truck was driving east on I-840 eastbound when it ran off the left side of the road, crossed over the median and west bound lanes, and hit an embankment, causing the semi to overturn.

The driver of the semi, identified as 61-year-old Edwin Keeland Sr. of Montana, died in the crash. Keeland was wearing his seatbelt.

The semi did not crash into any vehicles.

The roadway is not entirely closed but motorists should expect delays in the area. It is not known when the interstate will fully reopen to traffic.
