A man faces charges after Fayette County deputies said the father of a man whose vehicle was stolen found the suspect – who appeared to be under the influence - driving the vehicle and detained him until law enforcement arrived.
Errol J. Lilly, 33, of Victor was arrested after deputies responded Tuesday evening to a stolen vehicle complaint on Saturday Road in Victor, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Deputies were told the vehicle owner’s father had found the vehicle being driven by a neighbor and had the suspect detained awaiting the arrival of law enforcement.
When deputies arrived, they noticed the driver of the stolen vehicle appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, the sheriff’s office said.
Lilly was charged with grand larceny, DUI-Drugs and driving while license revoked. He was taken to Southern Regional Jail to await court proceedings.
