Niceville man critically injured after being thrown off motorcycle in crash on SR 293

NICEVILLE — A 22-year-old man was taken to a hospital in critical condition early Tuesday morning after he was thrown from his motorcycle in a crash on State Road 293.

The crash happened about 3:20 a.m. south of Lakeshore Drive in Niceville, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Niceville man was heading north when his motorcycle drifted to the left and traveled across the raised concrete curbed median.

The motorcycle entered the southbound lane, overturned and threw the driver onto the road, the FHP reported. He was taken to HCA Fort Walton-Destin Hospital with critical injuries.
