Plainview 6, Prattville Christian 1
OXFORD — Plainview scored two runs in the third and two more in the fifth to ease past Prattville Christian on Tuesday, ending the Panthers’ season with a 6-1 loss in the state tournament.
Plainview will face Central Regional winner Beulah on Wednesday in the semifinals, while PCA ends the season at 36-12.
Mia Tidmore had four hits to lead Plainview, while Tessa Word had two hits and an RBI on offense and pitched a complete game in the circle, striking out nine.
Prattville Christian 5, Piedmont 3
OXFORD — PCA bounced back from an opening round loss with a 5-3 win over the Bulldogs in the second round of the 3A state tournament on Tuesday, scoring three runs in the seventh inning to fight off elimination.
Jersee Carter had three hits and Sarah Williams had three RBIs to lead PCA. Alivia Messick was the winning pitcher, striking out five in a complete-game performance.
Jaycee Glover and Cacey Brothers had two hits each for the Bulldogs.
Mobile Christian 10, Prattville Christian 1
OXFORD — Mobile Christian broke open a tight game with seven runs in the sixth inning to finish off the Panthers in an opening round game on Tuesday at the 3A state tournament.
Isabella Neil struck out 10 batters in seven innings to pick up the win for Mobile.
Jersee Carter and Sarah Williams each had two hits to lead the Panthers. Laura Beth NeSmith took the loss for the Panthers in the circle, pitching six innings.
