Volunteers sought for putting flags on veterans’ graves

The Ellwood City American Legion Post 157 is asking for volunteers to help place flags on veterans’ graves, May 23-25, for Memorial Day

ELLWOOD CITY – The Ellwood City American Legion Post 157 is asking for volunteers to help place flags on veterans’ graves for Memorial Day.

The post will be placing over 3,000 flags in total.

They will be meeting at 6 p.m. May 23 at Wurtemberg Cemetery in Perry Township, 6 p.m. May 24 at Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Wayne Township, and 6 p.m. May 25 at Holy Redeemer Cemetery and Locust Grove Cemetery in Ellwood City.

Boy Scouts of America Troop 806 and Girl Scouts of America Troop 28845 are assisting and need additional help.

In case of rain, the rain date will be at 6 p.m. May 26.
