Barron family dies from smoke inhalation

BARRON Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – An autopsy shows two children and their father died from smoke inhalation after a fire in Barron last week. Last Thursday, fire crews were sent to a house fire on River Avenue in Barron just before 3:30 in the morning.

Six-year-old Conner Albee and 5-year-old Emily Albee were pulled from the house but later died at the hospital. Their father, 44-year-old Donald Albee was found dead inside the home later.

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office says there were no traumatic injuries unrelated to the fire. A toxicology report is still pending. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. DCI continues to investigate the incident as well.
