(Moorhead, MN) -- A pair of incidents took place at 'The Corners' apartment complex in Moorhead early Wednesday morning.
First, Moorhead Fire says the laundry room at one of the buildings off 19 1/2 street south near the Islamic Center caught fire around 1 a.m. Authorities say a dryer was on fire, but the flames were out quickly after crews arrived. Officials say tenants were allowed back inside shortly after being evacuated.
Then, just a few hours later, Moorhead Police responded to the same apartment complex at 3:36 a.m. for a report of a man with 'blunt force trauma' to his face. Authorities say a suspect, known to the victim, entered his apartment and assaulted him. That suspect, who is on the run, is facing assault and burglary charges, but is not believed to be a danger to the public.
