State Senator Chuck Edwards will face current Buncombe County Commissioner Jasmine Beach-Ferarra in November. Tuesday night, Beach-Ferrara pulled in more than 32,000 votes to win the Democratic nomination for U.S. House in North Carolina's 11th Congressional District. Beach-Ferrara said she plans on using the tools she's gained as a county commissioner in the race moving forward.

The body of a missing Greenville County woman has been found in Rutherford County. Investigators say Edna Suttles went missing in August of 2021. Monday morning, they found her body in a wooded area off of Harris Holly Springs Road in Rutherfordton. In March, federal warrants revealed Rutherford County resident Daniel Printz claimed he killed four people. He told federal investigators he could take law enforcement to the location of Suttles.
