MH assistant becomes head football coach at McCrory

A member of the Mountain Home High School football coaching staff is getting his opportunity to be the leader of another program. Bombers’ defensive line coach Brandon Godfrey has been hired as the new head coach at McCrory.

Godfrey says he is excited for his new opportunity.

Godfrey will take the reins after Chris Kennon resigned to pursue other opportunities. He’s taking over a Jaguar program going into next season as the defending Class 2A state champions.

Godfrey, a Salem High School alumnus, was at Mountain Home for one year after spending three seasons as the defensive coordinator at Magnet Cove. He says the time he spent with the Bombers has helped him better prepare for his new opportunity.

While Godfrey has been making trips to McCrory in preparation for next season, his first official day with the district will be July 1.
