LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – There was no way Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Dakota Williams could miss Thomas Mack Partin and his La Follette bound red Ford pick-up truck on the Gen. Stiner Highway; it was coming head on at Williams and his cruiser at a high rate of speed, according to a report from the sheriff’s office. It was just after midnight Tuesday when Partin was passing a vehicle and was in Williams’ lane.

The deputy turned his vehicle around all the while clocking Partin at an alleged102 miles per hour passing the Middlesboro Road turn off. Williams attempted a traffic stop to no avail as Partin ignored the lights and siren.

Thomas Mack Partin, 22, 139 Reagan Lane, La Follette, remains housed in the Campbell County Jail this morning without bond and is due in court on June 14.

According to the arrest report, Williams clocked Partin driving his red Ford at 112 mph into the city limits of La Follette where the speed limit is 40 mph. The truck veered onto East Beech Street, ran the stop sign at Cumberland Avenue, took a left and headed south on Cumberland Ave. Partin went through another four way stop at East Kentucky Avenue and then swung right onto East Virginia Avenue. As East Virginia turned into Bluff Road, Partin allegedly brought his 2014 F-150 Ford pick-up to an abrupt stop in the middle of the road, exited the truck and raised his hands in the air.

Partin’s speech was slurred and Williams allegedly saw an open container in the truck’s center console. The Clubtails Watermellon Magarita was still cold. Partin allegedly told the deputy that he had consumed three other alcoholic beverages over the past two hours.

Upon running Partin’s drivers license, it was revealed that the license was revoked for DUI (driving under the influence). Partin also could not provide proof of insurance for the truck.

Partin, 22, 139 Reagan Lane, La Follette, remains housed in the Campbell County Jail this morning without bond and is due in court on June 14. He is facing charges of evading arrest, reckless driving, drivers to exercise due care, speeding, DUI 2nd offense, driving while suspended, revoked or cancelled drivers license, traffic-control device, failure to maintain lane, violation of the Tennessee financial law and open container law.
