A fan has uncovered a Letterboxd account for Margot Robbie which accidentally reveals the influences behind her upcoming blockbuster ‘Barbie’.

The account has since been deleted, but a screenshot remains that list five movies under a folder titled ‘Barbie’ suggesting that the actress is using them as inspiration for her role.

The movies include The Young Girls of Rochefort, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Splash, Puberty Blues and The Truman Show. The genres that are prevalent in the listed movies are romance, comedy and drama, suggesting that viewers can expect a mixture of all three genres in the upcoming Barbie movie.

Interestingly, the first two movies – The Young Girls of Rochefort, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg – are both musical romances. Before now, there has been no suggestion that the hotly anticipated live-action Barbie movie will be a musical.

A screenshot of Robbie’s Letterboxd account has been posted to Reddit and users are speculating how the movies are connected to Barbie.
